You may have noticed I didn’t post last week or earlier this week. These past couple of weeks have been a doozy and anxiety-filled! Good anxiety. But any anxiety whether good or bad is just … too much. Before we continue into what’s been happening in my life, how’s your 2025 going so far?
Let’s catch up!
I Got Baptized!!
This past Sunday, January 12th, I surrendered my life to Christ! It was an exhilarating experience! In the week leading up to the baptism, I felt filled with anxiety—mainly due to the fear of the unknown. It's something we all experience, yeah?
Once the baptism was over, I felt refreshed. One, because I know my life is no longer my own - it never was. But now I put all my trust and worries and all that life brings to Christ Jesus. And two, because the nerves and anxieties were gone, lol.
I Tried These New Products From NYX
Let’s start first with their new skin tint. I love their original SPF primer that stuff is amazing!
Their new skin tint comes in 10 shades but the Walmart I went to only had 4 of the 10 shades available with many out of stock. I grabbed the shade Vanilla Bean Butta; I originally wanted Cashew Butta but it was one of the sold-out shades.
This has a similar scent to their original SPF, this does feel nice and hydrating but be careful with what skincare you layer this on top of. Whenever I use the Elf Hyaluronic acid serum without fail this product will pill. It won’t pill crazy bad (unlike Elf’s Suntouchable Whoa Glow), but it does happen and it’s worth noting.
At first, this felt a bit heavy due to the skincare I had underneath. So, I would steer clear of any hydrating and heavy serums.
This claims to give a soft glow and I would have to agree. It’s a beautiful soft glow, it wears well throughout the day. If you have dry skin you’ll love this. If you have oily skin stay away from this. Shop skin tint →
Lip IV anyone?
Besides their skin tint, I tried their new hydrating lip IV glosses. The way these go on!! It’s as smooth as … dare I say (because I detest this saying) … but it’s as smooth as butter! Or in NYX’s case butta.
I got two shades and love both of them. The shades I got are Bubblegum Burst and Hydra-Honey. Hydra-honey is my main go-to for the season. Though, I wish the stains were a bit … softer. They’re definitely strong and pigmented more of a berry tone though, that could just be because my lips are naturally pretty pigmented as is. So it may be different depending on your natural lip shade. Shop Hydrating Lip IV →
Getting Out of My Comfort Zone
In one of my latest videos, I discussed the importance of stepping out of our comfort zones. The Lord has been testing me. I attended a Bible study that felt uncomfortable for my introverted self but it was nice. My anxiety was insane once again, ha! And my baptism was something unexpected and way out of my comfort zone. Though, these moments are very uncomfortable I couldn’t be more grateful for them.
Have you done anything yet out of your comfort zone?
Now that my nerves are settling we’re back to regular content 😅.
A comforting verse as we head into the weekend.
The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise and watch over you. Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.”
—Psalm 32:8-9
